If you are thinking of selling your home and want to do some renovations to spruce up the place, say no to wallpaper. Wallpaper is a huge waste of time and money. The first thing that new homeowners do when they move into a new home is rip off the old wallpaper, so don’t bother with it and paint instead.

Choosing paint over wallpaper is a great home improvement tip. Wallpaper may seem like it’s easier to clean, and it is for the most part, but if you ever want to redecorate with farrow and ball wallpaper it’s going to be difficult to remove. There is much more involved with removing wallpaper, whereas with paint, you can just paint right over it!

To make wallpaper removal easier fill a spray bottle halfway with white vinegar then fill to the top with water. Score the paper and spritz the vinegar mixture over the paper, saturating it and letting it soak for five minutes or so. Use a putty knife to lift a corner and enjoy easier removal without chemicals.

If your walls are in bad condition, consider using wallpaper instead of paint. Wallpaper can hide all manner of damage on a wall, like hairline cracks, grease marks, chips, pen marks, etc. Paint on the other-hand, can draw attention to even the smallest defect on an interior wall. Wallpaper also have the added advantage of making a room feel cozier.

Don’t throw out left over wallpaper! Instead use it to add color and pattern to your home. You can cover a whole headboard in a bold print to make a big statement. Or, use smaller pieces for the recessed areas of doors or cabinets. Paste scraps in a patchwork pattern on wall or door trim for a great border effect. Be creative and thrifty by using wallpaper leftovers in your projects.

As stated in the beginning of the article, feng shui is an interesting idea that basically states that the arrangement of furniture in a home can have an impact on good fortune. This is a form of home improvement as well, as you can give a new appearance to your home by re-arranging your furniture.
